Mark Edwards
Producer
Mark Edwards has worked in film and television production for over 15 years. He graduated from Yale University, where he studied literature, art history and history, and then attended film school at NYU. He began his career in New York supervising the post-production of a 10-part series about the history of American Cinema for PBS and the BBC. He also wrote several documentary series, including a history of American theater, which was awarded a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts. In 1995, he moved to Paris, where he became Regional Coordinator for France for the Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation, created by Steven Spielberg. After spending three years recording more than 1,700 interviews of Holocaust survivors in France, he returned to producing documentary films in 1998. Since then he has specialized in international co-productions, and has produced documentaries about history, film, politics and culture for most of the major broadcasters in Europe, Canada and Australia. Several of his productions have been selected at film festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival, the Turin International Film Festival and the Jerusalem International Film Festival. He lives with his wife, an author and editor of children’s books, and their three children in Paris.
